The translation of the Papiamento word Chi Chi means ‘bigger sister’. Curacao Sea Aquarium

The Sea Aquarium is quite an experience for the children. There is plenty to do and see to keep you entertained for a whole day and it is also super educational. You can discover the sea aquarium yourself, but during the day there are also various planned activities at the Sea Aquarium beach. Enjoy the dolphin show where trainers show what the dolphins can do. There are also sea lions in the park. The trainer tells a lot of interesting facts about the animals and there is also plenty of room to ask questions. At certain times you can experience shark and flamingo feeding and join the tour of the Sea Aquarium where you can learn all about the flora and fauna on display. The Sea Aquarium is open every day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and guarantees a day of fun.

Dolphin Academy

The dolphin academy is located on the same site as the Sea Aquarium, near mambo beach, and is open every day from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. It is of course an unforgettable experience for young and old to come into direct contact with a Dolphin. Under supervision, every child can already participate in the Dolphin encounter. You are then on a platform where you can admire all the tricks of the dolphins and as a highlight you can give the dolphin a kiss. You can also swim, snorkel and dive with dolphins. Photos will be taken by a professional photographer during the activity. If not everyone in the family participates in an activity, it is possible to see everything from a small distance and you can also take photos and videos yourself. Trolley Train Tour

One of the best ways to see historic Willemstad is a ride on the Trolley Train. The tour starts at Fort Amsterdam, after which you visit the picturesque houses in the Scharloo district. The tour continues past Pietermaai Cathedral, the largest church on the island. Then it’s on to the floating market, the Mikve Israel Emmanuel Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, and the impressive Water Fort built under William III. Back at the starting point you will visit Fort Amsterdam, which was built in 1635. The church inside the fort is the most interesting. Children’s Museum Curacao

Children’s Museum Curacao is a place where children learn through the power of play and is the only museum where you are allowed to touch everything. The museum is a child-oriented place where children are free to explore the world they live in. Suitable for children aged 1-8, the museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Sambil

Sambil is a large shopping center with various clothing stores such as only, desigual and American Eagle. In addition, you will also find electronics stores, jewelers and drugstores. Recently a supermarket has also opened, Carrefour. In addition to all the nice shops, there are plenty of other fun things to do in Sambil. There is a large cinema, the Cinemark, where 2D and 3D films are shown. Minigolf and Playground at Brakkeput Mei Mei

At country house Brakkeput Mei Mei you can enjoy a delicious dinner as well as a mini golf. There are 18 courts and there is also a nice playground for the little ones. All this is set in a beautiful tropical garden. Finish your mini golf activity with a delicious dinner on the front terrace of the mansion. The golf course and playground are open Wednesday to Sunday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The Ostrich farm

The Ostrich Farm is located in a beautiful nature reserve on the road to Groot St. Joris in Santa Catharina. The Ostrich Farm means fun for the whole family! It feels like you are in South Africa. There are tours where you get the chance to feed the ostriches yourself. The children can then play in the playground, climb the high observation tower or have a look at the other animals that also reside in the park, such as monkeys and parrots. In the restaurant zambezi you can enjoy the specialties and there is a nice souvenir shop. The Ostrich Farm is open every day from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Rancho Alegre

Curacao is also very nice to discover by horse. You always end up in places that are otherwise inaccessible. If you like horseback riding and if you come on holiday to Curacao, it is definitely recommended to pay a visit to Rancho Alegre. You will find Rancho Allegre at country house Groot Sint Michel.
