Willemstad Curacao
The original buildings in the heart of Punda are architectural gems and part of Willemstad is listed on the Unesco World Heritage List.
The two historic districts of Punda and Otrobanda are located on the Sint. Anna Bay and are connected by the unique pontoon bridge (pontjesbrug). Where you also have a beautifull view on the big ‘Juliana bridge’. Punda is the most important shopping center of Willemstad with numerous shops.
In Punda you will find the ” floating market ” where products like fish and fruit are sold from boats.
Also in terms of culture Punda has something to offer: the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue from 1732 with the Jewish Museum, the Coinmuseum and Fort Amsterdam with the 18th century beautiful Protestant Church in the courtyard.
